Well Christmas is here and I finally get to hang up my pinny for a few weeks! This year has been wild! My business is booming and considering the current economic climate that’s pretty good going. At the beginning of the year I set myself some targets...read more
I have finally got round to setting up a Facebook page for my business. It’s a great place to chat to previous clients and see the cakes they commissioned. To become a fan please click the badge below or on the contact page!

After receiving regular requests to teach, I am proud to announce I am now offering one to one tuition for basic cake decoration in my Studio. Lessons will commence in January at the cost of £20 an hour (minimum of two hours per session). Students can decide what areas they wish to concentrate on, be it a skill or project. Tuition can continue as long as you require.
Group courses are still under discussion. These will follow a more structured programme, teaching skills like learning and practicing the basic principles of applying marzipan and icing a fruit cake, basic sugar modelling skills, basic piping skills and making a basic sugar wired topper.
More information will be available in the New Year.
Great stuff! These monochrome cookies/cupcakes are getting a lot of exposure lately. Thank you Wedding Ideas for the lovely large feature pic, much appreciated x
I am pleased to announce I will be exhibiting at Whirlowbrook Hall on the 31st October 09 Halloween (fancy dress not required). Here I will be exhibiting a few of next seasons cake designs and handing out cake samples. My consultation dates are booked until the end of November now, so this would be a perfect opportunity to jump the queue and have a chat. I will offering 10 minute consultation slots throughout the day where you can discuss with me your personal requirements and ask any questions. Should you wish to book a time slot in advance, please contact me via email and I'll let you know my availability. For more details regarding the wedding fair and names of other exhibitors please contact Emma at Whirlowbrook Hall
Well, well, well! You and your wedding feature! What can I say, I’m ecstatic that news of my work is finally getting around! Many thanks to the editorial team, I really appreciate it x
And once again for good luck! I'm becoming a dab hand at this now and loving it too! Maybe I should consider a career change? Today I answered questions listeners had posted for me on the radio’s web site. For example, how to achieve a moist chocolate sponge and how to ensure a cake rises. Fingers crossed ill be back!
Oh my eyes I’m back again and this time for an hour!!!!! Wow, just got to hope I can find something to chat about for that long! Actually it was really easy as it was a food and drink program and I was talking about guess what....... cakes! They’re such a nice gang down there making me feel totally relaxed. Of course this could have something to do with the gingerbread cookies I presented them with.
I'm really pleased to say I've made it into Cosmo Bride! Check out August/September's issue on sale from the 2nd July.
Well I’m on again! However this time it was on the back of my rather pathetic win from deal or no deal. I had a real giggle this time and relaxed straight away. Managed to get a few plugs in too!
Yes its me! I'm on deal or no deal right now! I've been on the east wing since the 31 May and will be on for a while yet. I had a fab time meeting new friends and being treated so nicely by the production team. Keep watching to find out the results of my game. Here's a few pictures from the show and backstage.
Well what can I say, I'M IN AGAIN!!!!! This time in a fab 4 page feature. Check out 25 ideas on how to achieve a fresh spring-like feel to your reception in issue 27 of Perfect Wedding Magazine, on sale 2nd March 2009.
Well, true to their word, the team at Perfect Wedding Magazine have put another of my cakes in their fab mag. This time turn to page 209 (February 2009 issue 25), you cant miss it! A big thanks to all the gang there especially Emily, what a star!
Still not sure what I'm doing in the form of wedding fairs this year, there's too many to choose from! I'll keep you posted.
I'm extending! Due to my work load increase, I have decided to extend my working area and introduce a studio where clients will be able to view my work close up. I'm aiming for April/May time so fingers crossed, more about that later.
As this was my first interview live on air I was very nervous, however everyone put me at ease and made me feel at home. Gareth asked to sample some of my wears so I brought along twelve luxury Belgium chocolate cup cakes filled with caramel! These were received with a big smile and the interview ran smoothly, thank goodness. We chatted about how I began my business and touched on problems viewers had encountered. I really enjoyed it and was delighted to be asked back in the future. Fingers crossed guys!!!!
Wow! I finally managed to get one of my cakes in a national glossy wedding magazine. Still grinning from ear to ear. Check out November's issue of Perfect Wedding to read the editorial pg 89. There's a slight error on the web address but who cares? THAT'S MY CAKE!! What's more, I'm told I may be in issue 25 on sale in January so don't forget to buy buy buy!...read more
I am proud to support Western Park cancer research hospital in Sheffield. After losing my mum at the age of seven through lung cancer, it’s a charity I hold close to my heart. In 2005 I was asked to design and produce a giant pink cake to reward all the participants of the “Walk for Life” race. The cake was a big success and a dummy was created to replicate the design and placed in a bridal shop window on Ecclesall Road continuing the support throughout the month of October. Why not join in this year?
Western Park Hospital and cancer research continue to require your support in fundraising. Please visit their website to see how you can help.
